The SOURCE Code is You
“An important function of almost every system is to ensure its own perpetuation.”
- Donella Meadows, Thinking in Systems: A Primer (2008)
Since the goal of any system is to maintain itself, the compound effect of interacting with a system* that doesn't see you
(*knowledge systems, education systems, industry norms, family, societal and geopolitical systems, etc.)
is an unspoken pressure to comply, to bend, to conform, to fit in;
to compromise the value you have to offer, in order to get things from that system.
When that cost is too high, your desires for your experience of 'work'
invites a different, emancipatory relationship with your own resources;
Where YOU determine what holds value.
To VALORIZE is to lead on creating a value system;
One that your conviction leads others to join you in seeing.
To valorize is to decide that the cultural and relational impact of your most desired work, and way of working, IS valuable, instead of building value through existing validating structures.
To 'invest' in the actions that have you feeling seen.
To show another way.
To offer a new model.
To lead.
To VALORIZE > validate.
